    Comprehensive Support Services

    At Wintergarden Women’s Shelter, we offer a range of services to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our services include emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and crisis intervention. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where survivors can begin the healing process and rebuild their lives.

    Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that every survivor receives the care and resources they need. From personalized support plans to community outreach programs, we are committed to helping individuals regain control of their lives and achieve long-term safety and well-being.

    Recognizing Domestic Violence

    Violence and abuse at the hand of a loved one is frightening, degrading and confusing. Have you experienced violence and/or abuse? Is so, you are a Victim of domestic violence. As a victim you have: RIGHTS!

    • The right to be treated with fairness and respect, preserving your dignity and privacy.
    • The right to be notified of court proceedings
    • The right to be present at all public court proceedings related to the offense, unless the court determines that your testimony would be materially affected if you heard other testimonies at trial.
    • The right to confer with an attorney in organizing your case.
    • The right to restitution.
    • The right to information about conviction, sentencing, imprisonment and release of the offender.
    • The right to be reasonably protected from the accused offender.
    • The right to access support services, including counseling and advocacy, to help navigate the legal process and recover from trauma.
    • The right to provide a victim impact statement and to be heard at sentencing and parole hearings.

    Our Programs

    Wintergarden Women’s Shelter, Inc. comprehensive program includes emergency shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, and legal advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We provide a safe and supportive environment, empowering survivors with the resources and support needed to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting safety.

    Sexual Assault Intervention Advocacy Crisis Services

    If you have been sexually assaulted and are seeking help or information, you can contact WWS for free and confidential services.

    Direct Victim Services

    WWS provides transportation and accompaniment to hospitals & law enforcement offices, information & referrals to community resources, and assists victims in accessing financial assistance and housing.

    Training Program

    WWS makes trainings accessible, and secure continuing education credits for law enforcement, attorneys, judges, social workers, the clergy, nurses and other allied professionals.

    Volunteer Program

    WWS offers opportunities for citizens to assist and help in various capacities in the program. Volunteers are the lifeline to many of WWS activities. There are always openings.

    Mobile Advocacy Services

    Our mobile advocacy services provide on-the-go support, crisis intervention, and resources to victims of violence in their communities.

    Outreach Education

    WWS offer primary prevention and intervention education, including dating violence awareness and safe dates, to increase community awareness.
